The offer:

Early years providers in the Opportunity Area (OA) can access a wide range of support suitable for all types of practitioner. This support includes:

Five to Thrive Training

  • Focused on understanding the importance of attachment and connected relationships on wellbeing and building resilient communities
  • Looks at five key building blocks to ensure adults and children maintain healthy relationships:
    • Respond
    • Engage
    • Relax
    • Play
    • Talk
  • Training provides theory and practical strategies
  • Webinar series to support early years practitioners implement this approach. The next webinar is in November – ‘Five to Thrive Ready for School: Reducing Barriers to Learning in a Time of Social Adversity’
5 to Thrive Building Blocks: Respond, Engage, Relax, Play, Talk

REAL (Raising Early Achievement in Literacy) Training

  • Delivered by National Children’s Bureau
  • Full 2 day training (4 x 3 hour online sessions)
  • Light touch 1 day training (2 x 3 hour online sessions)
  • 1 – 2 hour follow-up online sessions/networks and peer support running
  • A bursary is available for families linked to the providers taking part in the two term programme

Cambridgeshire CLL Modular Pathway

  • Delivered by Ben Kingston-Hughes
  • A pathway with courses for newly qualified to graduate level practitioners
  • Opportunity to achieve a Level 3 Award in Speech, Language and Communication

Business and Governance Training

  • Delivered by Jacqui Burke, Flourishing People
  • A suite of 1-hour webinars on business planning, finance and governance
  • Specific training for committees or governors of early years provision, managers, leaders and childminders
  • Group surgeries
