All secondary schools, including SEND and Alternative Provision, are able to access the support of the Careers and Enterprise Company (CEC) Enterprise Co-ordinator (EC). This support includes advice on embedding the 8 Gatsby Benchmarks within a careers programme, signposting resources and activities, employer engagement and access to the Enterprise Adviser Network.

Schools across the Opportunity Area have worked incredibly hard over the last 3 years to improve and perfect their careers’ programmes. Compass self-evaluations have been taken regularly, demonstrating their continuous ‘progression towards’ and ‘achievement’ of the above benchmarks.
Every school has been matched with an Enterprise Adviser (EA) who is able to support it with developing its careers strategy and gain access to wider employer engagement. The EAs have a wealth of business experience across diverse occupational sectors. The team is also fortunate to be supported by 6 Cornerstone Employers: G’s Fresh, Stainless Metalcraft, Cambridge Commodities, Anglian Water, Morgan Sindall Construction and KPMG who give additional strategic support to the schools in the area.
Every secondary provision was offered activities from a virtual wallet during 2019/20. Those activities which were not delivered as schools closed abruptly in March, will have the opportunity for these to take place, if viable, during 2020/21.
